Realized we missed a few photos of our cozy downstairs family room…..and Pub !! Just installed the cabinet that will house the kegerator and two beer taps. It will be stained to match the woodwork and will have a top matching the barn wood look on the back wall The family room wood burning cast iron stove puts out a great source of heat.

So the last major element is finishing the “smart” home elements….more to learn!

December 19, 2020. 1st Christmas !

The last few months have been very busy with the initial move-in, dealing with all the myriad “fixes”, learning how to use everything (smart appliances, oh my!)…..then turning around to host Thanksgiving and very shortly, Christmas

In the midst of it all, Ennodio worked hard to complete fencing around the area we defined as our “backyard”. We have a small herd of mule deer that roam the general area and we want to try to keep them outside the fence….we’ll see how that goes!.

We have found our house and property a complete delight. We still wake up sometimes wondering who lives in this lovely home! The view of the mountains and the sunsets are often just stunning and they certainly feed your soul

Here are a few pictures of the house decked out for the holidays. Blessings to you all, and prayers for a 2021 full of health and recovery for all of us, our country, and the world.

Move In ! September 2020

The last two weeks have been incredibly busy with completion details plus packing, moving and unpacking! We are functional at the new house but have weeks to go to get things in order. New furniture for the great room will be arriving this month, with the goal to host Thanksgiving for the local family and a few friends.

The final details involved getting our vent hood installed in the kitchen, getting the pantry, garage, and closet systems in place and getting the stone detail finished around the great room and bar arches.

Included are pictures of a lovely sunset from our back deck, the same deck covered in snow after a drop in temperature from 95 to 32 degrees…..in one day! This can happen in October but very rare for early September. It will all be melted in a few days.

We’re getting bids for the basic landscaping we want to have done before winter really sets in. Getting simple fencing completed for the main backyard area is part of that task.

Many things are now finished…..getting closer and closer to completion! Our gorgeous walnut floors are stained and sealed, Also the kitchen and pub appliances are in, the stairs are stained, the outside railings are in (just copper color end caps to come), carpets and window treatments installed. We even found a fake stone to cover our well head! We have a some detail stone work inside and out to be finished, our kitchen vent hood to be installed, and of course final details.

July 22nd, 2020 Site update

A number of key items have been completed or are close to completion. Most notably, our great room fireplace is finished! After a bit of a false start, we got the right masonry team to work the details of applying the stones just how we wanted. We are delighted with the results and how beautifully the mantel and hearth stone stands out.

The stone for the lower level family / pub room was completed as was the brick for the wine cellar. Our steam and infrared saunas were installed. Lastly, most of the work has been done on the whole house water filtration system. Because we have a well, we wanted to be sure the water was clean and bacteria killed.

The BBQ base structure is complete on both decks—a combo of aluminum and cement boards did the trick with less weight. The same stone used on the exterior and the deck pillars will finish the look and tie into everything.

We had a quick visit to the house to see the outdoor lantern style lights and the exterior stairs (not finished). We also got to view most of the interior lights and ceiling fans. It’s been quite a while since we chose all the lights, so it was exciting to see them in place, even though they aren’t at the final height. The kitchen mosaic and backsplash are ready for grout, then the kitchen will be pretty much ready for appliances. Lastly, our custom pounded copper bar top for the downstairs “Pub” arrived and was put into place. We love how it turned out and how it looks with the reclaimed wood.

All these details make a huge difference. It all felt like unwrapping presents on Christmas morning!

June 17, 2020 Site Visit

Our visit today was to review several things:

Check on the cement patios and fire pit areas that have been colored and stamped and are in the process of curing to their final color.

See the driveway center planter being built which also houses the well head. It will have the same stone as the house applied once it is finished. We think a statue of some sort with plants to hide the well hardware would be the best idea. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions about that?

View the exteriors now that the protective plastic sheeting is being removed (stairs still need to be built and railings for the upper deck installed). The AC units were installed at the base of the garage exterior and a retaining wall was started

View the interior now that the walls have been painted. Most of the house is a warm neutral color called Lotus Pod. The kitchen, pantry and laundry/mud rooms are a soft cream color that closely matches the cabinet color.

We can finally start to see the views from the house now that the plastic sheeting is off most of the windows.

The wine cellar racks have been stained and need to dry for a number of days. It’s important that the fumes from the water based stain are cleared before the protective sealer is applied.

All in all, the progress can be seen everywhere!

May 21st, 2020 Site a Update

Outside we have several important items being completed or constructed. The Trex decking system is almost complete as well as the T&G ceiling for the lower level covered patio. The front porch and several misc cement areas were poured and formed, and the raised fire pit platform was constructed. Soon we will be able to visualize the backyard as the patios are created!
