May 6, 2020 Site Visit

We had a short visit this morning to coordinate the trenching to be done for a propane gas line out to what will be our fire pit area, electrical line for our waterfall pump, etc

We were very happy to see the exterior stone work completed for the turret, the front porch columns, the side door detail (into wine making room) and the back columns for the deck.

We also saw the design feature in the master bathroom shower completed….the shower will be done soon.

Lastly, we were excited to see the team onsite to mount our custom mantel and hearthstone for the great room fireplace. It’s a framed, molded piece that is fabricated with stone, but is hollow inside. Still weighs a lot but nothing like it would be if it was pure stone. Now we just need to get the fireplace stone on-site!

April 29, 2020 Site Visit

The stairway bannisters and iron spindles are in for our gorgeous circular stairs.

It’s been a very productive few weeks at the new build. Many things are finished or very close to completion. Enough design features are done such that we can really visual how the house is going to look. May will be a month of painting all the walls and completing the outside decks and stairs.

Outside the stone work is almost done….we’ll post pictures next week once the scaffolding is down. Inside, the kitchen is almost done, the main bar cabinetry and countertop is in.

The lower level pub bar is coming together with the back wall being outfitted with reclaimed wood and floating shelves. Ennodio will be building a lower cabinet and more reclaimed wood for the front of the bar. The lower level powder has a cool feature wall behind the copper sink.

We also finalized all the window treatments….no small feat when you have as many windows as we do! Lastly, we arranged for all the cement work to be done….front porch and quite a bit of color, stamped concrete for the back patios.

April 2020 Update

All the trades have been very busy onsite…..thankfully we’ve been able to have a crew (10) spread out for safety. Outside the final stucco color and detail is being finished along with the stone application. Our solar panel array is done and producing power, our buried propane tank is in place as well as,our very state of the art septic system.

Inside, the wood and tile flooring is almost complete, interior doors are being installed, all the cabinetry is going in. The house has heat and the plumber will be installing the water heater etc, very soon. There is a partial picture of the custom mosaic that will be installed under the kit vent hood as well as the tile design inserted into the wood floor in the entry foyer. We are starting to have a few appliances delivered …note the picture of the bathtub!

Ennodio and Paula have spent a great deal of time reviewing and getting bids for window treatments (both a blessing and a curse when you have so many windows!) as well as the closet systems for throughout the house. Lastly, a decision was made on carpet and it’s on order. All in all, significant progress and we feel very blessed that things are moving along. We may be impacted by the virus, but so far it looks like only a 30 day delay. Insignificant when compared to what’s happening in our world. To everyone reading this message, be safe and be kind.

March 10th, 2020 site visit

Many trades quite busy at the site right now. Exterior stone, stucco and details being completed. Inside, tile being laid to be followed by the wood floors. Wall paint colors have been selected and painting will commence very soon. We have also been busy with vendors for garage, pantry and closet organization, in addition to carpet and window treatments. All that plus looking at furniture for the great room. Soon all the custom build-ins will be put into place for the office, great room, kitchen nook and bedroom 2. Can’t wait to see it all!

Visit March 5th

Today, we went to the site with a drapery vendor to make decisions on the type of window covering we will use in each room. With the amount of windows that we have the price tag for window covering is significant $$$$.

During our visit we decided on the main level paint color and reviewed the progress of the floor preparation to start laying tiles. Changed the ML powder room to wood floor (it was and oversight from our initial discussions)

The ceiling in the great room fireplace side (aka living room) is done and it looks amazing.

A lot of progress outside with the stone and stucco going up. Selected the grout color for the stone.

Visit February 28

A beautiful day with clear view all the way to the mountains. This is the view that we will have to endure, but we will have to get use to it πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€ͺ.

A lot of work inside and more decisions were made with our Trim Carpenter. The Wood on and the ceiling of the great room is being installed the wood for the floor was delivered to star climatizing. We completed the design for the closets and the pantry. I have to use all my negotiating skills to get a very reasonable pricing. Next week is about selecting the right windows and sliding glass doors treatments.

Stucco color selection done. Inside painting selection continues. It is amazing how the color changes when you apply it to the wall as compare to the small color samples.

February 21th Visit.

Paula and I visited the site today to make selections for the trusses and ceiling wood stain color, pain color for the great room and kitchen. A lot of progress in the house, the dry wall is complete and the texture finished. The house looks great inside. We will publish a few pictures next week. However, I want to share this view from our deck.

Site visit on January 28 – Dry walls are going up Solar System installed – Metal roof end cap done

The metal roof was finished at the beginning of the month and it looks fantastic.

The work in the inside to place the crossed beams in the turret and the progress is showing the beauty of the design.

The Solar system was installed this week and inspection is in progress. There is another row going on the top of the array that was completed after this picture was taken.

The dry wall installation is going fast and furious, the inside of the house looks like a war zone. Here are some pictures showing the progress in the master bedroom, great room and pub areas:
